Palia Mousiki
Tuesday 29th – Wednesday 30th August, at 21.00
The Municipal and Regional Theatre of Kavala, as part of the 66th Philippi Festival, presents on Tuesday 29th and Wednesday 30th August, at 21.00 in Palia Mousiki the performance “Monkey who doesn’t fit in anywhere is arrested”, an adaptation of the short story “Confessions of a Shinagawa Monkey” by Harris Murakami.
A monkey and a woman meet in a sacred place. The former works providing relaxation services and the latter is on a journey of self-discovery. They are at a liminal point where they cannot be part of the micro-societies that surround them. Both are stray beings, lost among the images and memories that have been worn on them, searching for a new language of their own to communicate. They are searching for their identity in an ever-changing world. Even if at some point an identity card becomes an object of theft…
