The infallibility of one (1) Margarita(Σ)

The performance THE INFALLIBILITY OF ONE (1) MARGARITA(Σ) commissioned by the Municipal and Regional Theatre of Kavala and created by the group RODEZ, will be presented on Monday 21, Tuesday 22, and Wednesday 23 July at 21:30 at the former Lord building, as part of the 68th Philippi Festival.

This performance is based on the literary work and life of Chronis Missios. (The text features excerpts from his works “Well, you got yourself killed early”, "Go on, smile... it’s not too much to ask", “The key is under the geranium”, and “The roof tiles are leaking”.)

The play recounts the small story of a great man. Using the body, voice, and technology as its main tools, it brings to the stage the journey of a romantic fighter who, standing against the oppressive system that crushed the human spirit, and passing through torture and imprisonment, ultimately witnessed the collapse of his dream and the violation of his every human right to life. We follow him as he gradually loses faith in the things that once gave him strength, reaching the twilight of his life and discovering a new, different ideology that finally offers the answers he was searching for. He seeks tenderness and romance, and turns to nature and love as the last remaining sources of human happiness. Four narrators and one on-stage musician will construct, dismantle, and reconstruct the dream, the disillusionment, the struggle and the hope, crafting through fragments of memories and encounters a romantic story from a past era that significantly resembles our own.
