The 67th Philippi Festival has now become part of history, and we feel the need to express our heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to its great success once again this year.
President Mr. Archelaos Granas, the Board of Directors, Artistic Director Ms. Eva Oikonomou-Vamvaka, and the theatre staff would like to extend their warm thanks to all those who supported the Festival with their moving presence throughout the summer. We would also like to thank all those who played an active role in making it happen.
First and foremost, we would like to thank the volunteers of the 67th Philippi Festival, who were, once again, by our side in an inspiring way.
We also thank the Municipality of Kavala, which funded all the Festival’s activities, the Ministry of Culture and Sports, which supported the 8th International Ancient Drama Workshop, as well as the EFFEA (European Festivals Fund for Emerging Artists), which helped bring to life and facilitate the production of “Photographs,” connecting our activities with prestigious festivals abroad and offering us valuable international outreach.
We would further like to express our gratitude to the Archaeological Service of Kavala, particularly the custodians who stayed with us late into the night, the Cleaning Service and the Technical Service of the Municipality of Kavala, the National Centre for Emergency Care (EKAB), the Kavala Police Department and Traffic Police, the Krinides Police Station, the Port Authority, the Kavala KTEL bus company for providing transportation, the Regional Department of the Hellenic Red Cross in Kavala for their invaluable voluntary services at every performance, and the Kavala Medical Association for providing a defibrillator.
Additionally, we extend our thanks to our sponsors: Energean Oil & Gas S.A., VEI Polyethylene Pipe Industry, and our media sponsors: ERT 3, ERT Kavala, Cosmote TV, Efimerida ton Syntakton, PRAKTORIO, elculture.gr, in2Life, TETRAGWNO.GR, and Theatermag.gr for their tangible support.
Lastly, we thank the entire media and journalism community, whose dedicated time and coverage significantly contributed to the success of this major event.
And as behind every performance lies the contribution of many special individuals, we thank the administrative team (Tonia Manali, Efi Primikyrlidou, Vera Lazaridou, Chrysa Pourtoulidou, Olympia Sougari, Stacy Hidri) and the technical staff (Giorgos Mastorakis, Giannis Stavridis, Kostas Garoufalidis, Giorgos Triantafyllidis, Panagiotis Lazaridis) of the Municipal and Regional Theatre of Kavala for their ideas and energy throughout the Festival. Special thanks also go to Alexandros Kokkas for the unique graphic design of the 67th Festival and to all the artists who took part in our productions, giving their heart and mind to them. None of this would have been possible without them.
However, as the word “thank you” comprises only nine letters and fails to encompass all the emotions the 67th Philippi Festival has filled us with and the path towards the light it has shown us, we pause with an ellipsis, bidding farewell to the summer, and renew our rendezvous for next year, where we hope, once again, to co-create an even brighter Festival than this year’s.
